Happy Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have been enjoying the rest of your week. I took time this week to focus on family and getting our house in order after a very busy season of work and life. I truly appreciate the time I get to spend with those I love and had a wonderful time catching up with them.
With the new year approaching I am taking a little more time to myself this weekend to reflect on this past year and set some goals for 2018. I also hope to recoup and set some health goals after a couple too many breakfasts of cinnamon rolls, bacon, and mimosas. It’s all about balance, right?
New Year’s Eve is a two fold celebration in our household with my husband, Josh’s, birthday being that day. When we first started dating I asked him if he minded having his birthday on New Year’s Eve and he responded with “I love having my birthday on New Year’s Eve, it means no one has an excuse not to come out and party” so party we have done. Over the years those parties have changed slightly, with a bit less of a dressed up day and a more comfortable, yet still festive, house party with close friends. Though we go to house parties as opposed to clubs, bars, or restaurants (trust me when I say I never want to go to any of those places on NYE – I worked in one for five years and it was madness) I like to wear more casual pieces with a festive pop. When I spotted this sequin jacket in a vintage shop I knew it would be the perfect pop to punch up my more relaxed outfit.
