How Do I Wear That Wednesday: Dresses In Winter

Today’s How Do I Wear That Wednesday comes from one of my very best friends, who asked how to style a dress for work while we’re in the dead of winter. When wearing a dress in -10 temps the key to being comfortable, and stylish, is layering.

Shop the look:

A solid base: I picked this dress from Leith because it’s the perfect basic dress that can be dressed up or down and take you throughout the seasons. This is one of the most flattering dresses I’ve tried on and the long sleeves provide an extra layer of warmth.

Warm tights: A good pair of tights is definitely worth the investment. I can’t tell you how many pairs of $5 tights I went through before finally spending a bit more money to get a quality pair. That quality pair has lasted me a couple years and definitely saved me from buying another dozen pairs of $5 tights.

A cozy cardigan: I love pairing a long cardigan over just about every outfit during the winter. If your office is anything like mine you’ll appreciate the added layer.

Scarf: I bring a scarf with me EVERYWHERE during the winter. I always find that if my neck isn’t covered I get cold so quickly, especially because it’s so drafty in my office. You can find me wrapped up in a big blanket scarf four months out of the year. Aside from the added warmth, I love how a patterned scarf can pull a look together.
