Making the Best of The Cold

I’ve started to feel like my blog and instagram have become a weather report lately. We have certainly had the most intense winter I’ve encountered in my time and this weekend’s ice and freezing rain storm certainly put a damper on my hopes of spring blooms popping up soon. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that all the little buds I saw earlier this week haven’t died.

With this ice and freezing rain keeping us under covers I decided to make the best of it and get my bags packed for some upcoming travels, along with cleaning our house and playing with and snuggling my puppies. I may have also binge watched a bunch of interesting shows on Netflix. What are your favourite Netflix shows to binge watch?

Spring Air

With spring in the air and new blooms bursting through the ground, I have been getting more and more excited to pull out some of my favourite pieces from last year, while adding a few new ones to my collection. One of the pieces I have started collecting, in various colours for various seasons, is this pleated midi skirt. From the fit, to how it flows, it’s the perfect piece to take me through this season and into the next.

With the cold weather moving in long term and the sun setting before I make it home from work, it’s easy to feel glum during the winter months. To brighten my days, and hopefully those around me, I love to throw on some pastel or bright colours during these darker days. What do you do to help you get through the winter months?

28!

Party Dress | Heels

I can’t believe I’m already another year older. Today is my twenty-eighth birthday, and what a year it’s been! Looking back at this time last year I never thought I would be where I am now.

This year has been so amazing; from landing my dream job to adopting our Dog Guide Foster Morris, I was shocked by, and SO grateful for, the opportunities this year brought. One year ago I had no clue this is where I would be. I am SO incredibly thankful for this past year and for all of you who take time out of your day to visit my little space on the internet.

Though I usually love all things feminine and frilly, I do appreciate an outfit with some sass and edge to it. When I spotted this embroidered skirt I knew I had to snag one! I have been hooked on this falls floral and embroidered trends, and this pairs the two perfectly. I decided to pair it with a simple off the shoulder bodysuit, which is incredibly comfortable, and fun – I’m obsessed with the bell sleeves. I love how easy this outfit feels, while still being perfect for a night out on the town. Anytime I can be comfortable while looking pulled together, I am one happy lady! I will mention that this skirt isn’t exactly easy to iron or steam so it was a tad wrinkled, but it has since smoothed out after I lay it flat for a couple days.

Garden Maxi

Floral Maxi | Sandals | Purse | Aviators

If you’ve been following me for a while you know I love florals, simple outfits, and a good deal, this outfit checks all those boxes. As summer is beginning to come to a close, I am working to find that balance between purchasing more summer items, and beginning to move into the next season. I had my eye on this maxi throughout the summer, but couldn’t bring myself to bite the bullet with the original price. Thankfully, this beautiful floral maxi recently went on major sale, making it a worthwhile investment. I love the floral and pom pom detailing on this dress, and the fact that I could pair it with a long cardigan and simple booties to take it into fall.

Back to Basics

Happy Friday ladies! With another big event coming up in just over a week time has been flying by now that I am back in the office – I can’t believe it’s already been a week since we came back from out west, how did that happen!?

Since it’s Friday, I wanted to show you my go-to casual Friday outfit lately. I think I have worn this outfit three out of six weeks in a row lately, it’s just so cute – yet professional enough for work. I also love pairing this top with my Lululemon leggings and sandals for hanging out on the weekends. I’m kind of obsessed with this top, as you can probably tell.

Leopard & Scallops

Distressed Denim Shorts (similar)| Leopard Print Cardigan | Scalloped Tank Top | Grey Tote (only $52! also available in pink, red, and black) | Cat-eye Sunglasses | Similar Bow Sandals

These distressed denim shorts have been on repeat lately. We just spent the weekend at our friends cottage and I may – though I’m ashamed to admit it – have worn them all weekend. I love the simple look of distressed/destroyed denim with a tank top for summer, especially one with cute detailing like this scallop edge tank.

Maxin' Relaxin'

boho maxi-5

Blue Boho Maxi Dress | Grey Booties | Brown Saddle Bag

I have been on a bit of a boho kick lately, have you noticed? I always find that as the temperatures rise I turn to light and airy pieces like this printed blue maxi. I especially love when I find pieces with unique details like the buttons and little bow detail, I am particularly in love with the slit on this dress because it’s perfect for twirling around in.
